The First Game Pass Titles of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the death bells for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Platform-specific outlets began covering about PlayStation as a new development. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Xbox remains determined to attract subscribers with strong games on its flagship service.

The Immediate Additions

The duo of games you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Major Titles on the Horizon

Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "an ideal blend of terror and combat."

Compelling Indie Titles

Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, nor are they massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they were due initially — rendering them excellent choices to experience a revival on Game Pass.

You might need to brace yourself to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
