On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard communication data and data recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test over the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a vacation in Portugal - is considered the most covered missing child cases and is still open.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One phone message, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine was, but I know what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone expressed: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I'm her? What then? Is that not significant for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a life here in Poland, I just want to discover," the recording stated.

The jury was told that via electronic messages, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a bid to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with law enforcement who compiled the data, advised the court there "seemed to lack any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally reached out to close associates of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On that date, Gerry McCann answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I will continue and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg struck up a connection via internet with Ms Wandelt preceding accompanying her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in the county in that winter.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted through WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be considered genuine in the months preceding the appearance to the village, that area, in last December.

The court heard correspondence between the two accused, in November 2024, discussing endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from silverware at a dining venue.

"We have to assert ourselves," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the visit to their residence, Mrs Spragg transmitted a communication which said: "We find ourselves positioned outside the McCanns' house with our vehicle dark like investigators. I had hoped to accomplish this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial proceeds.
