Franchise leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their roles in the latest Hunger Games series film, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
Reports indicate that original stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.
A Major Return to Panem
The actors are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. It is believed their cameos will likely occur in a flash-forward sequence, given that the original saga concluded with their characters married and with children.
This represents the sixth film in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a recent book by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.
The Storyline and Fresh Faces
The film's narrative are set 24 years before the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is portrayed as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games.
The film welcomes several accomplished actors in key parts:
- Jesse Plemons is playing Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes takes on the part of a younger version of the calculating President Snow.
