FC Barcelona Set to Play Historic Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
