David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The author

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
